St Francis House boy Sonny Morey wins Best and Fairest award for Central
District in the SANFL.
A member of Central District’s first ever league team in 1964, Sonny Morey had the distinction of being the first
Bulldog player to win a kick in senior ranks; when he retired 13 seasons later at the end of a 213-game SANFL
career he was the last remaining link with that original side.
He represented South Australia four times in that position, and was selected there in the club’s official ‘Best
Team 1964 to 2003’.
