honouring five eminent Indigenous Australians who have campaigned for the rights of Indigenous people.
The new stamp issue comprised five domestic base-rate (60c) stamps featuring Shirley Smith AM, Neville Bonner AO,
Oodgeroo Noonuccal, Eddie "Koiki" Mabo and Charles Perkins AO.

Vincent Copley is awarded the Member of the Order of Australia
(AM).
Vincent (Vince) Copley is an Elder of the Ngadjuri people of South Australia. He was born in 1936 in Point Pearce,
South Australia. Vince Copley has been an important advocate for the rights of Aboriginal people. He has spent all
of his life working to improve the social, legal and economic position of Indigenous people, raise self-esteem and
regain identity. Over a lifetime of service, he has visited almost every Aboriginal community in Australia. He
successfully campaigned to reform marriage laws, create the South Australian Lands Trust laws and have the
racially discriminatory Welfare Board legislation repealed in South Australia.

The work of Australia's first indigenous Socceroo John Moriarty was
honoured by FIFA in London with a top three placing in their prestigious Diversity Awards.
Now in its third year, the FIFA award recognises organisations and individuals that are standing up for diversity
and inspiring unity, solidarity and equality among all people.
Since 2012, John's JMF project has delivered a football and education program to more than 100 children aged 6 to
16 in the remote Northern Territories communities of Borroloola and Robinson River.
